Effect of the synthesis conditions of titanium-magnesium catalysts on the composition, structure and performance in propylene polymerization

Supported catalysts synthesized via the interaction of Mg(OEt)2 with TiCl4 in the presence or absence of an internal stereoregulating donor (di-n-butyl phthalate), with different solvents (chlorobenzene, n-undecane, n-heptane) at different titanation temperatures have been studied by a set of physicochemical methods. Data on the chemical composition, X-ray structure and pore structure of these catalysts as well as data on their activity and stereospecificity in polymerization of propylene were obtained. Chemical composition, structure, activity and stereospecificity depend primarily on the presence of an electron donor stereoregulating component and on the solvent nature and titanation temperature. Activity of the catalysts is determined by totality of different characteristics: the chemical composition, in particular, the presence of inactive by-products like TiCl3(OEt), the MgCl2 X-ray structure and pore structure. More active catalyst which was synthesized under optimal conditions in the presence of di-n-butyl phthalate contains the minimal amount of TiCl3(OEt) by-product, and has a more ordered X-ray structure and a homogeneous mesoporous structure with a narrow mesopore size distribution

In-phase excitation of infinite phased antenna array

    No full text
The accurate solution of the problem of scattered field in a phased antenna array made of semi-bounded flat wave-guides at in-phase excitation is proposed. The functional expansion method over selected values in Hilbert space with a reproducing kernel is used. Alternative representations for amplitude coefficients in the analytical form without series and infinite products are derived

Real-time vibration reduction in UAV’s image sensors using efficient hough transform

    No full text
This paper explores use of Hough transform to detect and track angular changes between a series of images acquired by vision sensors attached to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and are used in traffic surveillance. The small size and atmospheric conditions can lead to unstable flying and this can induce vibration to the pictures. In this research it is proposed that the vibration in the acquired images can be reduced by using the angular variation as feedback to stabilize the motion of the UAV as it captures subsequent framesBaltic Institute of Advanced Technologies, LithuaniaBaltic institute of advanced technologies, LithuaniaTaikomosios informatikos katedraVytauto Didžiojo universitetasXi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool university, Chin

Gadolinium Orthovanadate GdVO4:Eu3+ Nanoparticles Ameliorate Carrageenan-Induced Intestinal Inflammation

    No full text
Gadolinium orthovanadate GdVO4:Eu3+ nanoparticles (VNPs) have been shown to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS), making them a promising therapeutic agent in inflammation. This study aims to assess the effects of VNPs administered orally on E407a-induced inflammation. Materials and Methods: Fragments of the small intestine of 8 rats treated orally with a carrageenan-containing food additive E407a at a dose of 140 mg / kg of weight during 2 weeks, 8 animals orally exposed to both E407a and VNPs at a dose of 20 μg / kg of weight during the same period of time, and 8 control rats were stained routinely and immunostained for CD3 and CD68 with the subsequent immunohistochemical scoring. Moreover, analysis of viability and cell death modes of granulocytes was performed by flow cytometry using Annexin V and 7-aminoactinomycin D (7-AAD). Results: Oral exposure to the food additive E407a resulted in the development of enteritis associated with altered small intestinal morphology, infiltration of the lamina propria with macrophages and T-lymphocytes, and activation of peripheral blood granulocyte apoptosis. VNPs administered against the background of E407a-induced slight intestinal inflammation improved small intestinal morphology, decreased infiltration rate of the immune cells mentioned above without affecting the intensity of granulocyte apoptosis. Conclusion: Oral administration of VNPs ameliorates E407a-induced enteritis
